James R.Martin是澳大利亚人文科学院院士、悉尼大学语言学教授，是当今世界重要的人文社科学者、顶级的几位语言学家之一。讲座主要内容： Why is it that everyone learns to talk fluently at home before they start school, but not everyone learns to write well once school begins? In this talk I’ll review what we have learned about language learning at home, and the ways in which Australian educators have adapted these understandings to teach writing in school. I’ll continue with a demonstration of how to make a bad essay a good one, and then conclude with some comments on the implications of what I am saying for teaching academic writing in different subject areas in universities around the world.http://www.nfsysu.cn/2010/article/2010/1214/article_269.html
